It is never a good idea to use the same password for all accounts or to use simple passwords, like names or birth dates. If you can't remember long passwords, then you should use a password manager. Passpack Desktop gives you the possibility of storing your usernames and passwords in a highly secure database. It comes with an auto-login feature, it allows you to share passwords for common accounts with your co-workers and much more.

Passpack Desktop can be installed on Windows, Mac OS X and Linux platforms, as well as various mobile devices. It is free for personal use and if you want more features, you have to pay a monthly fee. Besides installing the application, you must create an online account as well.

Essentially, Passpack Desktop is an online service for storing and sharing usernames and passwords. This means that you can manage your stored passwords on any computer, on various web browsers, like Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome, Opera or Safari. The desktop application serves the same purpose. You can store and manage your accounts on your home computer, even in offline mode and synchronize your changes with the online account, once an Internet connection is established.

Stored accounts are displayed in a list, along with options for copying their usernames, passwords, URLs and other details to the clipboard. You can also favorite individual accounts, set different security levels, assign tags and make other adjustments. Another useful feature is the possibility of filtering accounts by their security levels, tags and so on.

Accounts are displayed in a similar manner on the web and desktop interfaces, but the web interface provides more options, for managing contacts messages and more. The one-click-login button is definitely worth mentioning. You can add it to your browser's bookmarks bar by clicking and dragging. When you reach a login page, you only need to click this button and your credentials will be inserted instantly, without typing anything. For security reasons, the button can be disabled and enabled, while you are logged into your Passpack account.

Pros

You can manage usernames and passwords on any computer, from a web browser. Accounts can be managed on a desktop application as well, which you can synchronize with your online account. You can also log into your stored accounts with a single click and share passwords with co-workers.

Cons

You may have difficulties with the one-click-login button, depending on what settings you make to your account entries. Even if you have long and complex passwords, Passpack Desktop will help you remember them and log into your accounts with a single click.
